Pricing
The whole editor is free. Sharing is a plan.
Writing, boards, databases, history, 3D scenes, media playback and all five export formats are yours for nothing, for ever, with no account — and none of it expires or nags. Pro and Team are the plans that put other people in a document, which is the only part of this that costs us anything to run.
Indicative, not final. Tessera is in closed alpha and nothing is being charged. These figures show the shape of the plans rather than a settled price list, and they may change before anyone is asked to pay. Alpha participants will be told what the final prices are before any of this becomes real.

Only Pro and Team put a document on a server. Personal is the application on your own machine and nothing else — no live cursors, no shared editing, no invite links, no document of yours anywhere but your disk. The features that run on your own GPU, 3D scenes and media playback among them, are part of the free application: there is no entitlement to collect, no account to sign in to, and nothing to check.
Questions worth answering before you pay
Does the app stop working if I cancel?
Everything in Personal keeps working for ever, on the version you have, with no account and no check — and that is now the whole editor, 3D scenes and media playback included, so there is nothing in it a lapsed plan could take away. Cancelling Pro or Team ends the ability to publish new documents to our servers — documents already published stay readable and exportable, and your local copy was always the authoritative one.
What am I actually paying for?
On Pro and Team: servers, storage, backups, and someone keeping them patched. That is the honest answer, and it is why those are the only recurring costs with infrastructure behind them.
On Self-hosted: a licence to run the collaboration server on your own machines. You provide and pay for the hardware, and we license the software; the price depends on how many people the deployment serves, so it is agreed rather than listed.
Do 3D scenes or media playback need an account?
No. They are part of the free application, on your own machine, with nothing to collect and nothing to check — the app has no reason to reach the network to run them, and does not. An account exists here for one purpose, which is putting another person in a document.
Is VAT included?
State the tax position here. In the EU a consumer must be shown the price they will actually be charged, inclusive of VAT, at the rate of their own country. Both Stripe Tax and PayPal can calculate this; decide which and say so.
How do I pay?
By card or through PayPal. Card details are entered on the payment provider's own page, never on this site — Tessera never sees, handles or stores a card number, and there is no field anywhere here that could take one.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. The terms set out the statutory right of withdrawal for consumers in the EU and EEA, and what happens if you ask for immediate access and then change your mind. Outside that, write to hello@studioheino.com and we will sort it out rather than argue about it.
What about my documents if you disappear?
They are already on your disk, as .tnote files you can read in a text editor.
That is not a promise about our longevity; it is a property of the file format, and it is
the reason the local-first design was chosen before any of this was a business.
Compare
What each plan grants.
Plans map onto the protocol's entitlements, which is the mechanism the collaboration server already uses. The app hides what an account does not hold rather than failing when it is used. The first three rows carry no entitlement code because they are not gated on one: they are the free application, and every plan is that application plus something.

That last row is on the pricing page rather than buried in a policy because it is the thing most worth knowing. Documents on our servers are not end-to-end encrypted; see what is not built.
